Liverpool tore Manchester City to pieces, scoring three goals inside the opening 31 minutes in their Champions League quarter-final at Anfield.
"The result is probably not what we expected. We needed to play more football in the second half and that's clear. They didn't have a lot of chances. We defended well but of course we didn't play football ourselves anymore which doesn't make too much sense.
On the manner of Liverpool's win: "It was a great start. Going 3-0 up before half-time set us up brilliantly. We knew we had to start fast and it wasn't difficult with the crowd tonight."
On his stunning goal: "It was a good strike. I've been working on that and I've showed myself that it's on more often and that I can keep doing it."
